Inscription

Instead of the potion/scroll system used by most roguelikes (and earlier versions of TOME), TOME 4 uses the inscription system for characters.

Inscriptions are broken down into 3 types:
* Infusion
* Rune
* Taint

To make them usable, they must use the inscription via the right-click menu, which will add them to avaliable inscription slot and the hotbar. If no free slot is avaliable, the game will prompt you whether you want to replace an existing inscription or if you want to buy a new slot which will permanently cost you one category point.

You start with three inscription slots and you cannot have more than five at any time. You also cannot have more than two of the same inscriptions at any time. Thus, you can have two regeneration infusions and a healing infusion, but not three regeneration infusions.

Undead characters cannot use infusions.

Learning anti-magic will prevent the use of runes (and arcane powered items and spells) completely. Carrying an item powered by arcane disrupting forces will add a chance of failure for all magic, including runes. Anti-magic and arcane disrupting forces do not interfere with the use of infusions.
